Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed visited Siachen Gyari Frontline on Friday.
He stopped by at the memorial in Gyari and laid a wreath and paid homage to soldiers of Pakistan army who were martyred in the landslide accident.
Addressing the soldiers, the interior minister said Pakistan is proud of the sacrifices laid down by the soldiers.
Rashid highlighted that the reason Pakistan exists as an independent country is due to the sacrifices of Pakistan army.
“The Pakistan army has made enviable sacrifices in the national defence. The entire nation is indebted to the eternal sacrifices of the army,” he said, adding that meeting the soldiers at the front post in Siachen was his longstanding dream. The interior minister was also briefed on the Gyari landslide. During his visit to Siachen, Rashid also visited Giang.
