‘Bandits’ gun down man in Muzaffar Colony

32-year-old victim was returning home after night shift

A man was allegedly shot dead by unknown assailants for resisting a robbery near Muzaffar Colony.

Police said on Monday that the victim was an employee at a local hotel and was returning home after completing his night shift when the incident occurred. The police registered a case against the armed suspects and initiated a search to apprehend them. The body was sent to a hospital for post-mortem examination.

The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Jamil Gul, a resident of Masoodabad.

The victim was reportedly returning home from work on a motorcycle at around 5.30am following the end of his shift when two gunmen tried to intercept him near Muzaffar Colony in Samanabad area.

In a bid to save himself, Jamil did not stop his vehicle and tried to escape, but the attackers followed him and gunned him down. The gunshots critically wounded him and he was shifted to a hospital for emergency treatment by a team of Rescue 1122.

A doctor told The Express Tribune that the victim succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Samanabad police have registered a case against the suspects on charges of murder and robbery.
