Two minors among four ‘sexually assaulted’

Police register cases, launch hunt for suspects

Two women and two minors were allegedly sexually assaulted in the city on Sunday.

Cases were registered against four accused for sexually abusing the women and minors.

According to the police report, a stand had been taken in the case registered by Muhammad Bhola, the son of Shafi, a resident of Mohalla New Garden Street No 1, that a year and a half ago he got his daughter married to Tanveer, son of Talib Hussain, a resident of 7GB.

The complainant added that the suspect divorced his daughter three months later so he could remarry. The woman then moved back to her father’s home.

On the day of the incident, the woman was alone at home when the accused, Tanveer barged into the house and threatened to kill her.

Tanveer allegedly took her to a room, locked her inside and raped her. Meanwhile, when the complainant’s wife reached home, she caught the suspect red-handed sexually assaulting her daughter inside the room.

When the complainant’s wife knocked on the door, the accused tried to flee but was later caught and handed over to the police.

In Liaquatabad, Jhang Bazaar, a property dealer named Rasheed allegedly barged into the house of Mohammad Saleem's widow.

He began a conversation with her about buying the house, lured her and raped her.

Separately, a cleric named Imran, the son of Ramzan and a resident of Sargodha, allegedly molested Abdul Majeed's 11-year-old son while he was going to study at Ghousia Mosque in Mudassar Colony Street No 19.

Police took action and arrested him. Meanwhile, in Rasoolpura area of D-Type Colony, Jamshed's son Zaid was allegedly lured by the accused Iqbal and Amjad to their mansion and molested.

The suspects filmed the incident and threatened the minor by blackmailing him if he mentioned this to anyone, his photos and videos would be posted on social media platforms.

Police registered cases against the named accused under Sections 376-377 PPC and launched raids to arrest the two accused.

Incidents where minors and women were sexually assaulted by suspects are not uncommon in the province.

On April 9, a man raped a 9-year-old girl in Christian Colony area of Adhorai village within the limits of Aymanabad police station of Gujranwala.

The victim’s father approached the shop and questioned the people.

The girl was seen walking with Qamarul Zaman, a man from the neighborhood. But the man was missing from the village.

Reportedly, the 9-year-old daughter of Joseph Masih, an employee of the Metropolitan Corporation, went to the grocery store to buy groceries. When the girl returned home after a while, she was crying.

The girl told her parents that an uncle had abused her.

On March 21, two minors and a woman were sexually assaulted in Khurrianwala.

A shopkeeper allegedly raped a five-year-old girl on Thursday in Dijkot, Faisalabad. According to the police report, the five-year-old daughter of Abdul Rehman went to buy something from a shop when she was assaulted.

In Tariq Colony Razaabad, Abdullah’s 11-year-old brother was allegedly abducted by the suspect Abdullah and two others. Two women were also molested in different incidents.

According to one complaint, Muhammad Younis’ 18-year-old daughter who was allegedly raped by Shahbaz and two others.

In another incident, a woman accused her husband Atif of sexual violence in a village near Jhang Road. In another incident in March, a six-year-old boy was injured allegedly after the assailants’ attempt to rape him failed.

Four people, including a police constable, injured the boy during the alleged molestation attempt.
