Nida Yasir has finally addressed the ongoing trolling after a 2016 clip of her morning show went viral on social media. Nida had invited two NUST students who had invented their own Formula 1 racing car. Abdul Aleem and Mohammad Shariq Waqar had joined the host in hopes to shed light on their project but were left dumbfounded with Nida's questions.
Twitter had a field day as many trolled the popular host over her 'poorly' researched interview. Now, Nida has responded to the queries by netizens while speaking to Independent Urdu. "After watching the clip, I'm laughing at myself," the Naadaniyaan star shared. "I find the interview hilarious. This was a mistake though. I will make sure that I research first before discussing any topic."
'Can it seat more than one driver?' Twitter in fits over Nida Yasir's F1 query
Nida added that she had forgotten about this interview since it happened a few years back. "I don't remember when it happened or what were the circumstances that led to me being so clueless and left me dumbfounded about the topic," she said while adding that the only regret she has is that she is always made a laughing stock on social media for such interviews and is never praised for anything worthy.
"I've done several important shows, whose feedback has been very positive," Nida commented. "However, no one ever talks about that or makes it viral. That really demotivates me."
The backstory
In the said video which has been making rounds, the Naadaaniyan star can be seen asking the guests about how racecars really work. The host goes on to inquire whether the Formula cars can seat more than a single person. To which, Aleem responded, "Actually, it is a formula car. So only one person can sit." Nida then quipped, "Oh, so it's just a formula for now? Have you done an experiment on any car?"
The engineers were left baffled, however, without losing composure, responded, "No, it's a formula car. We've made one. It's a racecar." Nida then questioned, "So, does it drive as fast as a petrol car?" The netizens were amused over the lack of research on host's part.
