JUI leader claims to have taken down Jungkook billboard in Gujranwala

Billboard was vandalised and removed by Farhan Adeel Butt, a political worker, who dubbed it ‘fahaash (vulgar)’

To celebrate the 24th birthday of BTS band member JungKook, Pakistan’s BTS ARMY installed a large billboard in the city of Gujranwala. Many were overjoyed by this development while Twitter had a field day – until the next afternoon, at least – following which, the K-pop group’s fans were met with an angry response.

Turns out, hours after its installation, the billboard was vandalised and removed by Farhan Adeel Butt, a political worker, who dubbed it ‘fahaash (vulgar)’.

A video shared by Butt on social media hears him call JungKook a ‘hamjins pasand group ka sarbarah (leader of a queer group)’ and his fans ‘ayash tabyat’. He goes on to say that the billboard was taken down after receiving similar 'complaints' from the neighbourhood.

Butt had previously opposed the female marathon race in Gujranwala as well and is known to have raised his voice against several cultural activities.

As for the Pakistani fan base of the Korean boy band, which is loud and proud in its admiration for the K-pop group, shower each member of BTS with excessive love on Twitter each year. They often make BTS trend on the micro-blogging site in Pakistan but we suppose they decided to add a little extra effort into their wish for JnugKook this year. Especially since Indian fans had wished the K-pop idol by having bus shelter billboards installed.

Nevertheless, now fans of the group are disappointed, and rightfully so. "I hope BTS never notice or come to Pakistan... It's for the better,” wrote a disheartened user.

Muqaddas | 3 years ago | Reply I m just surprised that nothing was more important than that billboard. Person who barely know what BTS actually is are talking about it . I wonder how that billboard was permoting homosexuality but sunny Leone on billboards is ok. BTS always support Muslims they indirectly support Palestine. They respect Muslims and ISLAM. Even they are non Muslim they are so down to earth respect their elders respect females. Teach their fans to respect their parents and work hard to make their parents proud.they always speak about justice and human rights. They always permote positivity and love . I m just surprised that for my nation nothing matter but that billboard.
Rabael | 3 years ago | Reply Well its alright if people like them .they sure are spreading waves of courage and morale in youth . But their sources are songs and pakistan is a muslim country which was built on the ideology of islam and islam prohibits this.youth is already so away from islam and if they let them put a single billboard .then later they will demand much more.and the muslims may lose their dignity as a muslim
