Afghanistan situation discussed with Austria, Slovenia
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday discussed the prevailing Afghanistan situation with his Slovenian and Austrian counterparts.
In a telephonic conversation with his Slovenian counterpart Anze Logar, Qureshi stressed the importance of stability in Afghanistan, for the safety of the people of Afghanistan and the region.
During the call, the two FMs also discussed matters regarding the deepening of bilateral relations.
The FM underlined that the international community should remain engaged with Afghanistan to forestall a dire humanitarian situation. He said the EU can play a pivotal role in this regard
Moreover, in a phone call with his Austrian counterpart, FM Qureshi called for concerted efforts to ensure peace in Afghanistan.

During the telephonic conversation, the Austrian FM thanked Pakistan for its support in facilitating the transit of Austrian nationals and others from Afghanistan.
The two Foreign Ministers expressed satisfaction over the current level of bilateral engagement.
FM Qureshi invited his Austrian counterpart to visit Pakistan on mutually agreed dates.
FM Schallenberg accepted the invitation and said that he looked forward to welcoming FM Qureshi to Vienna for a bilateral visit.
