The Supreme Court has summoned the attorney-general of Pakistan, director-general and additional director-general FIA Zafar Qureshi, and interior secretary today (Tuesday) in response to Qureshi’s letter sent on Sunday to the apex court’s registrar.

On Saturday, Qureshi was not allowed to enter his office following a hoax bomb call at the FIA Punjab headquarters in Lahore. Qureshi informed the Supreme Court in writing about the bomb hoax.

Qureshi also submitted a copy of his charge assumption report to the registrar wherein he said that in compliance with the Supreme Court order of July 25, announced on August 8, he assumed the charge of additional DG FIA in addition to the charge of managing director of the National Police Foundation. After going through the report, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry ordered to put up the case today.
