After singer and politician Abrarul Haq's speech from a PTI celebratory convention in Islamabad went viral, celebrities and social media users called him out for his jibe at “aj kal ki maaen (mothers of today).”

The clip saw Abrar mimicking the way mothers croon Baby Shark to their children nowadays, to make fun of how they choose to raise their kids. His act led model Nadia Hussain to slam him for ‘talking down’ mothers, while actor Yasir Hussain shared her sentiments. Actor Zarnish Khan and singer Shafqat Amanat Ali, on the other hand, defended Abrar.

Now, Yasir has shared a video of his wife and actor Iqra Aziz crooning Baby Shark to their son, Kabir Hussain, followed by a clip that serves as a reminder of why people should refrain from judging mothers. This clip shows Quranic recitations being played on television for the baby.

In the caption of his post, Yasir penned, “Never judge a mother for how she chooses to raise her child, what she teaches them or what she makes them listen to." The Jhooti actor added, "If I had been exposed to the struggles of a mother before, I would never have dared to look my own mother in the eye. A mother's place is really high. Whether it's the olden days or today, a mother is a mother. Never judge a mother."

In his speech, Abrar, who joined PTI after a successful run as a singer, said, “When we were kids, our mothers would recite the Kalima while holding us in their embrace, today's mothers play Baby Shark and hand their cellphones over to their children…"

To this, Nadia had said, "Not sure how you went from being raised with the sound of the Kalima in your mother’s embrace to belting out tracks like Nach Punjaban and Billo De Ghar.” Yasir shared Nadia’s take on Abrar’s condescending remarks and wrote, "You literally grabbed him by the neck. Good one!"
