K-P restricts movement in nine districts

To curtail spread of coronavirus and its newly reported variants

PESHAWAR:

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has issued new directions with enhanced restrictions for nine districts of the province to curtail spread of coronavirus and its newly reported variants.

The notification showed that directions regarding tougher measures were issued for Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Upper Chitral, Lower Chitral, Mansehra, Kohat, Karak and Dera Ismail Khan from August 23 until further orders.

All commercial activities would be closed by 8pm except medical stores, tandoor shops, milk shops and hotels.

Outdoor dining has been allowed till 10pm whereas takeaways are allowed 24/7. It has also been decided to shut down commercial activities including markets on two consecutive days as per the instructions of the district administration.

All public and private offices would observe their respective normal office timings following the policy of 50 per cent attendance of staff, the notification added.

Meanwhile the health department data showed that the total death toll from coronavirus in Pakistan stands at 24,713 with a 7.8 per cent positivity ratio.
