New filter tanks to ensure drinking water in Quetta, Loralai

Dr Ameer Mohammad Jogezai, the Chief Executive of Help Balochistan on Wednesday said modern water filter tanks are being provided in different districts of the province including Quetta and Loralai to ensure a safe drinking water supply to the people.

"At least 22,000 solar lights have been distributed in the province so far. Help Balochistan is taking steps keeping in view the needs of the backward areas of the province," he said while talking to reporters on the occasion of water filter tank installation in the press club.

"Realising that there is a shortage of clean drinking water in Balochistan due to which many diseases are spreading, Help Balochistan first started the project of Personal Straw and then by importing modern water filter tanks from abroad. Distribution has started across the province," Jogezai added.

He further informed reporters that the water filter tanks have been installed in SOS Village, Darul Falah Orphanage, Press Club at Quetta, Darwishabad, Baleli, Sirajul Uloom Madrassa, Old Age Welfare Institution, Loralai District Jail, Tablighi Markaz, Jogezai Petroleum.

Filter tanks will also be installed in the madrassas and FC headquarters.

Jogezai highlighted that Help Balochistan is the only organization that is installing free water filter tanks and solar lights by importing them. “More than 15,000 solar lights have been distributed in 16 villages in Dhaka alone.”

Due to the lack of electricity in Balochistan’s remote areas, the people of Balochistan were compelled to light lamps and this problem has been solved by solar lights.

Help Balochistan is also carrying out welfare work in the province including Nushki, Dalbandin, and Killa Abdullah.

General Secretary Quetta Press Club Banaras Khan, Adnan Ali Khan of Help and others were also present on the occasion.
