Six suspects shoot a man and his friend dead who kidnapped a girl and married her two months ago in Sammundri.
Police said Farooq Ahmed, 24, a resident of Chak 49 GB, had kidnapped the daughter of Liaqat Ali, a resident of the village, two months ago and married her in court.
Meanwhile, to avenge the grievance six suspects including Murtaza took Farooq Ahmed and his accomplice Shabir Khan on a tractor trolley. Meanwhile, when they were on their way to Gojra they opened fire on both of them. Subsequently, Farooq Ahmed died on the spot while his accomplice Shabir Khan was shifted to Gojra Hospital in critical condition, where he died after a life-and-death struggle. Police reached the spot, seized both the bodies and shifted them to the hospital for postmortem.
On the statement father of the slain Shabbir Khan, the suspects named Murtaza and five others have been booked under different sections of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) including 148 (Rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (Every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 302 (Punishment of qatl-i-amd) and 337-Q (Arsh for single organs).
Police have also started conducting raids to arrest the suspect. Earlier this year in February, the genitals of a man were allegedly mutilated in an attack near Mianwali.

Police said the young man was assaulted in Kalabagh area. The victim, a resident of Gharibabad, was married for the second time in three years. He had a son from his first marriage and later developed a relationship with another woman, whom he married by his own choice in Kalabagh.
Last year, after the victim married for the second time, he reconciled twice with his first wife, on the condition that he would not visit or go anywhere near the locality of her family.
However, the victim would repeatedly stalk the locality of his in-laws from first marriage. Reportedly, the victim threw a ball at his in-laws, as a result of which his conflict with them aggravated.
In a fit of rage, members of his first wife’s family grabbed the man and allegedly chopped off his genitals.
After the victim was assaulted, Kalabagh police reached the spot and recorded the man’s statement.
The victim was shifted to Kalabagh Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in a critical condition.
In a similar incident on January 30, a woman along with her accomplices allegedly cut off the genitals of a youth in Nemat Town, Dijkot. The accused Jamila Bibi alias Gogi, a resident of Nemat Town, had allegedly lured the youth into having relations with her.
