Pakistan observes Police Martyrs' Day today
Police Martyrs' Day is being observed across Pakistan on Wednesday to pay tribute to the sacrifices of police officers and personnel who laid down their lives for the protection of the country.
Special ceremonies would be held in this regard and floral wreaths would be laid on graves and monuments of police martyrs.
Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, while paying homage to the martyrs, said that "Pakistan Poice has made monumental sacrifices in the line of duty over the years, contributing immensely in bringing peace and stability to the country," according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

President Dr Arif Alvi held a telephonic conversation with the family members of Pakistan Army personnel Captain Basit Ali and Sepoy Hazrat Bilal who embraced martyrdom during an operation in Khurram District.
He commiserated with the bereaved families and prayed for the higher ranks of the martyrs.
The president also telephoned the family of Captain Affan Masood who embraced martyrdom in Pasni and appreciated the services of the martyr.
