Finance minister reviews fertiliser supply

Emphasises that the government was committed to facilitating the poor farmers

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin held a meeting with Federal Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar to review the supply and stock of urea fertiliser for the farmers.

During the meeting, the Ministry of Industries and Production secretary gave a detailed presentation on the production of urea and gave updates about the sufficient stock of fertiliser to cater to the requirement in the upcoming sowing season.

Speaking on the occasion, the finance minister emphasised that the government was committed to facilitating the poor farmers by timely providing them with inputs in order to boost agricultural productivity.

“The key focus is to revitalise the agriculture sector by stimulating rural productivity and farm income,” he added.

Moreover, Azhar affirmed his full support and cooperation in the provision of required inputs to the fertiliser plants keeping in view the overall stock situation.
