KARACHI:

The solo flight of the Sindh government to impose lockdown in Karachi, the economic hub of the country, is a conspiracy against the federal government, said Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh addressing a press conference at his residence on Monday.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led federal government had pulled the country out of the most difficult economic situation, he claimed. But just when economic indicators started improving, the Sindh government imposed a lockdown in the port city, he alleged.

The policy for Covid-19 pandemic was formulated by the federation and the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) and the provinces were bound to implement it, he said.

Meanwhile, PTI Karachi President Khurram Sher Zaman and party leader Sameer Mir Sheikh called on Karachi Tajir Action Committee leaders Jamil Paracha, Jamal Sethi, Sharjeel Goplani and Hakim Khan at the Lighthouse intersection on MA Jinnah Road. Addressing a press conference, Zaman said due to the lockdown, problems have arisen in the delivery of containers at the port. The daily wage earners were not considered in the lockdown.
