Lockdown delays Inter Part-II examinations in Sindh

Late results will cause a delayed admission process at the university level for different disciplines, including MBBS

The decision of the Sindh government to impose a complete lockdown has led to the postponement of the last few papers of second year intermediate. The decision has delayed results of the annual examinations of second year inter pre-medical, commerce, arts and home economics.

The late results will cause a delayed admission process at the university level for different disciplines, including MBBS. The new academic session of public and private universities of Sindh may also be delayed.

Students from Sindh often take admission at universities of other provinces of the country.

Only pre-engineering annual papers have been completed till Friday, July 30, under the Inter Board Karachi. In addition, the botany and zoology papers are yet to be conducted in the pre-medical discipline and were to be held on Saturday and Monday, respectively. Similarly, some papers are yet to be held in other disciplines.

A senior inter board official, requesting anonymity, said there was no objection to the lockdown decision, but if the stakeholders are consulted , they will suggest postponing only first year examinations. “The rest of the papers of inter second year should be continued with strict SOPs otherwise the results will not be ready. The delayed released will have a direct impact on university admissions," he said.
