Prime Minister Imran Khan has praised the results of the billion tree plantation campaign in Bhakkar district.
According to local officials, the area of Bhakkar range was barren two and a half years ago and has become fertile.
The success of the campaign was acknowledged by the prime minister in a tweet.
Trees play a key role in making the environment green but most of the area of Bhakkar is covered with sand, the officials said.

After planting in the area, it is a matter of great skill to nurture them and shape them into trees.
The campaign of the Ten Billion Tree Tsunami Programme, which was started under the supervision of District Forest Officer Chaudhry Nadeem Ashraf Warraich, was not an easy target in a sandy area like Bhakkar.
The district forest officer said it was an honour for the department to be encouraged by Prime Minister Imran Khan through tweets. He said that as per the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan and under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza, the Billion Tree project on thousands of acres in Bhakkar is successfully under way.
