NICE:

Dutch international winger Justin Kluivert, 22, will play this season on loan with French top flight side Nice after AS Roma agreed Tuesday to a deal including a purchase option.

The son of former Dutch international football player Patrick Kluivert had a deal with Roma through to 2023 but informed sources said Nice had an option to buy for some 10 million euros ($12.5 million).

After starting out at Ajax, Kluivert headed for the Italian capital three seasons ago for around 18 million euros and has some 50 Serie A appearances under his belt, though he spent much of last season on loan with Bundesliga side Leipzig, scoring three times in 19 games.

Nice coach Christophe Galtier hopes Kluivert will thrive in the side alongside compatriot Calvin Stengs, a nippy left winger who joined the Riviera side earlier this month from Alkmaar.

Verona goalkeeper Silvestri signs for Udinese

Italian goalkeeper Marco Silvestri on Tuesday signed a three-year deal with Udinese from Serie A rivals Hellas Verona.

The 30-year-old former Leeds United player replaces Argentine Juan Musso, who recently signed for Atalanta.

The deal which runs until June 2024 is reported to be worth 2.5 million euros ($2.9 million) plus one million in bonuses.

Silvestri joined Verona in 2017 after three seasons with English side Leeds, having previously played for Italian clubs including Chievo and Cagliari.

In England, Silvestri saved four penalties in his first year in the Championship, playing just short of 100 games in total.

He played 115 games with Verona, helping them return to the top flight in the 2018/2019 season, earning a call-up for the Italian national team in October 2020.

Verona meanwhile confirmed they have signed Benevento goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipo, 25, on loan with an option to buy.
