PM’s nephew, rival lawyer bury the hatchet

Dispute came to an end following intervention by senior lawyers

Rift between Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s nephew Advocate Hassan Niazi and a lawyer came to an end after most senior lawyers intervened and resolved the matter.

However, Hassan Niaz claimed he will fight legal battle against Shahzadi Nargis, widow of former governor of Balochistan Nawab Akbar Bugti, who allegedly got lodged “fabricated criminal case” against him. Niazi claimed he had committed on such act under which the allegations in the FIR was registered against him.

Reportedly, during court proceeding, arguments exchanged between lawyers of both sides. Senior Advocate Ayaz Butt was representing Nargis while Advocate Hassan Niazi was representing the complainant side.

During exchange of fiery arguments, it was reported that Niazi first slapped the senior lawyer Ayaz Butt and then shouted at Nargis.

However, Nargis approached the Islampura police and lodged a criminal case against advocate Niazi and four unidentified persons under various charges including attempted murder.

The complainant told in FIR that the accused persons allegedly attacked her in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Syed Ali Abbas on July 8 in the morning.

She alleged that Niazi and his accomplices first abused her in the presence of her lawyer and then tried to strangulate her.
