Govt approves 21 development schemes

The schemes are collectively worth Rs1.12 billion

RAWALPINDI:

The Punjab government has approved 21 development schemes worth Rs1.12 billion for PP-15 constituency. All development schemes have been included in the 2021-22 Annual Development Programme (ADP).

The schemes include new water supply pipelines, two 100 million gallon capacity underground water tanks each in wards 1, 2 and 3, and two filtration plants each for all three wards.

The other schemes include construction of a storm drain (nullah) from Pirwudhai Mor to Qadri Colony, Mehboob Line to Peshawar Road in ward 10, construction of a road in Naseerabad, Qasimabad, and Peshawar Road to Street no 20.

The construction and repair of Saham Road and installation of a new sewerage system in wards 9 and 10, the building of Naseerabad police station, and an indoor sports gymnasium on Peshawar Road are also among the projects.

The construction and repair of Dhok Banaras Road, Khalid Bin Waleed and School roads in ward 2, construction of streets in Allahabad, a new road from Askari 11 to SCO Unit Range Road, construction of streets in Madina Colony, Dhok Banaras and Shala Valley, and repair of dilapidated streets in wards 1, 2, 3 ,8, 9 and 10.

Sources said that funds for the development schemes would be issued soon after the Punjab government gives approval. Work on the projects will start as soon as funds are deposited with the district administration.
