Orders police to continue investigation in Dodo Bheel murder case

KARACHI:

The Sindh High Court (SHC) issued on Tuesday notices to the Sindh advocate general and other authorities over the plea seeking the recovery of Awami Workers Party leader Seenghar Noonari.

A two-member bench, comprising Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro and Justice Faheem Ahmed Siddiqi, was hearing the plea.

The petitioner has maintained in the plea that Seenghar should be presented before the courts if he is accused of any offence or recovered as soon as possible.

At the outset of the hearing, the court remarked that since the matter is of serious nature, the authorities should submit a reply on the matter at the earliest.

The court issued notices to Sindh advocate general, deputy attorney general, Sindh inspector general of police, Pakistan Rangers director general and other authorities, seeking their replies by July 29.

According to the prosecution, Seenghar has been missing since June 26, 2021, and a complaint against his disappearance was filed in Naseerabad Police Station.

Dodo Bheel murder case

Another bench, headed by SHC Chief Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh, directed the investigation officer to continue the investigations in Dodo Bheel murder case.

Hyderabad Deputy Inspector General Sharjeel Kharal, Mirpurkhas DIG Zulfiqar Mehar and Tharparkar SSP Hassan Sardar Niazi appeared before the court during the hearing.

DIG Kharal submitted his report at the outset of the hearing. Deceased's brother and community leader Lajpat Sorai informed the court about Bheel's brutal murder. They claimed that he was tortured to death.

At this, CJ Sheikh reprimanded SSP Niazi and directed the IO Siraj Lashari to continue the investigations into the matter.

According to police, Bheel was murdered by a mining company's security guard in Mitthi, Tharparkar.
