While the overall automotive industry figures of Pakistan seem promising, data reveals that the growth experienced by the Pakistani car market still remained 12.3% lower than the pre-pandemic levels. It significantly affected the competitive landscape of the Pakistani automobile industry.
During the pandemic, Indus Motor Company (IMC), the manufacturer of Toyota vehicles in Pakistan, bid farewell to the Corolla XLI and GLI. They introduced Yaris, a vehicle known to stand out for its mix of rugged styling and efficiency that is bang on the zeitgeist, in March 2020
Sedans typically have a vast consumer market, because they offer affordability with convenience and style. However, when the Toyota Yaris was launched, activations enabled car enthusiasts to experience what the hype was all about was limited due to the lockdown.
Although Yaris is a completely different product than the Corolla, Toyota users were waiting to compare it to the Corolla XLI and GLI to see what cutting-edge features might have been introduced in the Yaris by Toyota. Additionally, the lockdown imposed on the world by the Covid-19 pandemic made it difficult for these car aficionados to register the newly launched brand without interacting with the sedan’s new look and feel.
People chose to form opinions based on what they heard from others, which infused a negative sentiment in some. However, true car lovers know that forming an opinion about a newly launched vehicle is foolish; hence they waited until the lockdown restrictions were lifted. It is when people started visiting dealerships to get a taste of the chic new Toyota Yaris, they realized why this automobile is all set to break all records of the Pakistani automotive industry this year.
With optimal vehicle stability due to optimised traction control, steering wheel switches, climate control, tire pressure monitoring system, push start and smart entry, 6.8-inch display, ABS, EBD & BA, hill start assist control, and many other security features, Toyota Yaris was made to outshine its competitors in the Sedan sector. This was reinforced by the Toyota brand which harbours the trust of its customers, courtesy of their Quality, Reliability, and Durability (QRD).
Toyota Yaris not only made a phenomenal comeback once the lockdown restrictions were lifted, but they also managed to outperform the competition to become the leader in the Sedan segment
