Woman ditches lover at joint suicide attempt
A couple promising to die together, if they cannot live together parted ways when the time came to jump in the raging Rohri Canal in Sukkur to commit suicide.
The young woman stepped back and ran away as her partner threw himself to the gushing water in front of eyewitnesses.
Body of the deceased, Waseem Mughal has yet to be recovered from the canal which was overflowing due to release of water from Sukkur Barrage.

Police quoting sources and eyewitnesses said that Mughal and the young woman wanted to get married but their parents were refusing to give their consent. Mughal ran a mobile phone sale and repair shop and was eager to start a life with his beloved.
On Monday around midday, eyewitnesses said they saw Mughal and a young woman who had her face covered arguing near the bank of canal on roadside. The lady refused to elope on which he insisted to die together to which see seemed reluctant and asked him to jump first and he did.
Shocked, the woman stepped back and ran away, people told the police.
