A minor boy was recovered on Saturday, while the couple allegedly involved in his kidnapping was taken into custody.
Bin Qasim Police SHO Imran Afridi said Huzoor Bux Bugti, a resident of Pipri, complained to the police that a couple, which recently shifted to their neighborhood, abducted his four-year-old son, Shahbaz, a couple of days ago.
SHO Afridi said Bugti was informed of this abduction by his daughter who was playing on the street with Shahbaz when the incident took place. Reportedly, Sameer Gopang and his wife Parveen allegedly took the boy with them.
Bugti said they were neither able to locate Shahbaz not the couple when they went to check at their new neighbours’ rented house. The SHO added that police registered a case and immediately launched an investigation on Bugti’s complaint.
He said Shahbaz was recovered overnight through clues found during the probe. “Gopang and Parveen were found waiting for a bus at Mehran Highway with Shahbaz,” said SHO Afridi.
He further stated that the arrested couple revealed, during initial investigations, that they had asked Bugti to give Shahbaz to them. Shahbaz was handed over to his family after the completion of legal formalities, while the arrested couple was handed over to the Anti-Violent Crime Cell for further course of action.
