Islamabad police arrest two alleged terrorists

Suspects revealed, during interrogation, their plan of terrorist activities on independence day.

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have arrested two alleged terrorists from a town on the outskirts of the capital and also seized hand grenades and weapons from them, Express 24/7 reported on Saturday.

A special police team surrounded the area and conducted a raid to arrest two men from Nilore town.

The suspects were reportedly planning to move out of their hideout.

Police claim that during initial interrogation, the suspects have revealed their plan to carry out terrorist activities in Islamabad during the Independence Day celebrations.

It is not clear whether the two men had any plan to carry out a suicide attack.

A cache of weapons was recovered from the arrested men.
