Man shot dead in Gulshan’s 13-D

As per the preliminary investigation, Haq Nawaz was traveling in a rickshaw when unidentified gunmen opened fire

KARACHI:

An elderly man was killed after unidentified gunmen opened fire at him on Wednesday morning in Karachi's Gulshan-e-Iqbal’s Block 13-D.

The police and medical workers reached the scene to shift the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. The deceased was identified as Haq Nawaz son of Nabi Bux, 60.

As per the preliminary investigation, Haq Nawaz was traveling in a rickshaw when unidentified gunmen opened fire, killing him on the spot. He suffered two bullet wounds. According to police authorities, the incident seemed to be the result of a personal enmity. Further investigation of the incident is underway.

In another firing incident reported at a wedding function near Noorani Park in Baloch Goth, 18-year-old Jahanzaib, son of Muhammad Ali, was injured. He was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment. In another incident, 35-year-old Imran, son of Yousuf, suffered injuries after an unidentified person attacked him with a sharp object near the Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth area early on Wednesday morning. The police are further investigating the case.
