MUZAFFARABAD:

Pakistan Peoples Party Azad Jammu and Kashmir (PPP- AJK) president Chaudhry Latif Akbar accused the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Azad Kashmir (PML-N AJK) chapter of bypassing the Kashmir dispute during their tenure, on Wednesday.

Akbar stated that AJK Prime Minister Farooq Haider failed to play his role in exposing Indian state terrorism, following the post-August ,5 2019 situation, adding that the role PML-N government played in AJK, and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) played in Pakistan, was unfortunate.

"Both the AJK and federal governments are playing a dangerous game to get results as per their liking in the general elections of 2021," he added, further stating that this should not be allowed.

Akbar also said that the AJK government is going to release funds worth Rs25million per scheme for every constituency aimed to influence the polls for their candidates, adding that the AJK government did not play a role to expose the sufferings taking place in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) region.

"The PML-N AJK divided people in the name of tribalism; the current situation of PML-N in AJK is unfortunate," he added.

"Both the AJK and federal government are using all available resources to get the results of their own choice in the incoming elections, which would not be allowed," Akbar said.

In 2016, the PML-N distributed hard cash through the Kashmir Council to win the polls, and in the 2021 polls PML-N AJK is also trying to influence polls through the schemes of the local government, the PPP official claimed.

"The AJK assembly, from 2016 to 2021, failed to deliver. All opposition parties also failed to play their role in the assembly to highlight public issues. The PTI had also tried to delay AJK polls through NCOC, but the PPP will not form an electoral alliance with any political party in AJK", said the PPP AJK president.

The PPP AJK president also asserted that he believed in the UN resolutions and they would be implemented, which was his party's stance.

"The PPP-AJK party manifesto will also be presented in a week in which health, education, and the IIOJK struggle will be given top priority, he announced.

The chapter's president also said that pro-Indian leaders have no right to represent the IIOJK.

All Parties Hurriyat Conference APHC is the true representative forum of IIOJK people, saying that India should release APHC leaders immediately if it wants South Asia to be a peaceful region.
