Alvi reviews water projects for city

Directed the authorities to find solutions such as the installation of a desalination plant

President Arif Alvi expressed his concern on Thursday over the water shortage in the city and directed the authorities to find solutions such as the installation of a desalination plant.

The president issued these instructions while presiding over a high level meeting at the Governor House on drinking water issues. The meeting held a detailed discussion on the K-IV and TP-4 projects.

Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, MPA Haleem Adil Sheikh, MPA Firdous Shamim Naqvi and a five-member Hubco team attended the meeting. A team of experts was formed to find concrete solutions to the water issue.

Alvi further said that being elected representatives, it was important for his party to offer maximum facilities to the masses. The team of experts, along with the president, offered awareness on water resources, availability, ongoing projects and future schemes.

The Hubco team also informed the president about the possible installation of reverse osmosis plants in Karachi as well as various parts of Sindh.
