Turkish actor claims suspect tricked him into becoming spokesperson for fake firm

LAHORE:

Famous TikToker Kashif Zameer was arrested on charges of duping Turkish mega-hit Ertugral Ghazi’s hero Engin Altan into becoming the brand ambassador of his fake firm by Lahore police on Thursday.

Zameer, who is known for his larger than life TikToks, had earlier invited Altan to Pakistan after sending a fake draft of a hefty amount to become the face of his ‘company’.

The star of the hit Turkish drama that has captivated the Pakistani company visited the country where dignitaries including Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar hosted him.

However, the deal turned out to be a sham as Zameer did not make any payments to Altan.

The Tiktoker was taken into custody after Altan filed a complaint before Inam Ghani, the top cop in Punjab.

DSP CIA Iqbal Town Mian Shafqat told The Express Tribune that Ghani ordered the CCPO to take against against the suspect.

In the raid on his residence, a Honda civic car along with a green number plate and a revolving blue light were recovered.

Displaying the gold chains, rings, and other bling recovered from Zameer, the DSP said that “all these items are fake.”

He says that he had many other cases registered against him, adding that,“his actions have tainted the image of the country.”

The police officer added that “the suspect has at least six cases against him already including carrying illegal weapons and fraud, among others in Lahore and Sialkot.”
