Rain, dust storm likely today

KARACHI:

The city is expected to witness light rain following a dust storm this evening (Thursday), as per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

According to PMD Director Sardar Sarfaraz, the thunder cells formed in the north and north-east of the city will cause the downpour with gusty winds in Karachi.

Light or moderate level precipitation may occur during this week from today, said Sarfaraz, adding that the speed of winds could get as high as 60km per hour.

Moreover, the weather is expected to remain humid and cloudy during the next three days, read the advisory issued by PMD’s Early Warning Centre.

According to PMD, the temperature was recorded at 37.2 degrees Celsius at the highest and 30 degrees Celsius.
