Covid-19 claims 22 more lives in Punjab

LAHORE:

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 22 more lives across the province while 223 fresh infections were reported in Punjab during the past 24 hours.

According to the data shared by the spokesperson of Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD), the total number of coronavirus cases exceeded 343,920 while the death toll from the virus had reached 10,501.

The P&SHD data showed that total recoveries from Covid-19 were 321,879.

The P&SHD confirmed that 75 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Lahore, two in Nankana Sahib, 21 in Rawalpindi, one in Jhelum, two in Chakwal, five in Gujranwala, one in Sialkot, one in Gujrat, 22 in Faisalabad, seven in Jhang, eight in Sargodha, 10 in Mianwali and 17 in Khushab.

Moreover, four virus cases were reported in Bhakkar, 15 in Multan, seven in Vehari, one in Khanewal, one in Dera Ghazi Khan, eight in Rahim Yar Khan and 15 in Bahawalpur during the past 24 hours.

The provincial health department had so far conducted 5,376,863 tests for Covid-19 in the province. The health department officials had urged the citizens to follow SOPs for their protection and cover their faces with masks.
