MPA Jugnu Mohsin escapes unhurt in attack

Incident happened when Mohsin was travelling back home after addressing a public rally

Punjab Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Syeda Maimanat Mohsin, popularly known as Jugnu Mohsin, was allegedly attacked on Monday. She remained unhurt.

The incident happened when Mohsin, also a journalist and wife of senior journalist Najam Sethi, travelling back home after addressing a public rally in Hujra Shah Muqeem, Okara, her home constituency.

According to the police report, Mohsin was returning after addressing a public procession in Moza Jhajh Kalan along with her supporters.

On Hujra Road, she was intercepted by Muhammad Hussain and other unidentified men who riding motorcycles and carrying firearms.

They allegedly hurled threats at the people accompanying MPA Mohsin before firing gunshots into the air. No one was injured, though. The suspects afterwards fled the scene.

The FIR registered against the suspects stated that two days ago, Muhammad Yaseen, had hurled death threats at MPA Mohsin on a social media platform.

The complainant Hafiz Irfan Hussain stated the suspect Yaseen had posted, “If the rally of Jugnu Mohsin reached Jhajh Kalan, no one would be spared.”
