The Family Man Season 2, starring Manoj Bajpayee and Samantha Akkineni, released on Amazon Prime Video on June 3. Ever since the first season of the show ended, viewers had been desperately waiting for its second instalment, according to News18.

The series also stars Priyamani, Sharib Hashmi, Seema Biswas, Darshan Kumar, Sharad Kelkar, Sunny Hinduja, Shreya Dhanwantary, Shahab Ali, Vedant Sinha, Mahek Thakur, Mime Gopi, Ravindra Vijay, Devadarshini Chetan, Anandsami and N. Alagamperumal.

The new season sees Bajpayee’s character Srikant Tiwari going up against a new and brutal force of nature named Raji, played by Akkineni. Akkineni has made her digital debut with the series, while Bajpayee, along with Sharad Kelkar, Priyamani, Dalip Tahil, Darshan Kumaar, and Sharib Hashmi have reprised their roles in the show.

Soon as the new season hit the OTT platform, fans took to social media to share their thoughts, dubbing it a ‘masterpiece’. A Twitter user wrote, “A Masterpiece by RAJ & DK, one of the greatest Indian web series to have come out. The Family Man meets international standards of filmmaking, hats off to the team and actors! Manoj Bajpayee hits the ball out of the park with his fantastic performance, Samantha is just as excellent." Another chimed in, “Just finished watching #TheFamilyMan2. What a masterpiece."

One fan added, “Done binge-watching the high-octane Family Man 2. Nothing but sheer brilliance was displayed in every frame. Raj and Dk, what a phenomenal piece of work! Wasn’t a fan of Samantha but I am now, this has to be her best performance ever. Deep down, I was rooting for Raji but at the end of the day it is what it is!"

The second season of the gritty action-drama series provides a riveting insight into the polarising worlds of Bajpayee’s Tiwari. Wrapped in exciting twists and an unexpected climax, the show, created by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, has also received rave reviews by critics of various news outlets.

According to the Times of India, the first season of The Family Man was a huge hit, courtesy of the humour induced into an otherwise ‘thrilling’ and ‘patriotic’ spy genre. And now, the second season has lived up to the expectations of fans, courtesy of the same humour the Raj & DK brand add to the show.

The first few episodes of the season lay its foundation, and as the story picks up pace, the sub-plots unwind along with new characters. Staying true to its name, according to the outlet, The Family Man 2 also attempts to balance the action-packed life of Srikant with his personal life.

According to NDTV, Bajpayee and Akkineni have delivered an onscreen duet to die for. As the nine-episode series explodes in the sixth chapter, it “does so in style and sustains the momentum right until the very end.” According to the review, the last four episodes are as riveting and well-paced as anything the outstanding first season had on offer.

Whereas Raji’s character stands out, thanks to the power that Akkineni brings to the portrayal. Akkineni, while playing a scarred woman who has a score to settle with her tormentors and a debt to pay to her benefactors, also plays a trained mean fighter to tackle her enemies.
