Turning 55 and I’m stronger than ever before: Wasim Akram
Former ace cricketer Wasim Akram recently celebrated his 55th birthday. Taking to Twitter to reflect on his journey during the pandemic and thanking God for his supportive family and fans, the star wrote, “Turning 55 and I’m stronger than ever before. Covid has taught me a lot. Family is the most incredible thing that has happened to me. I thank God for all the love in my life so I want to thank all of you following me on my journey and the support you have given me throughout.”
Birthday wishes were sent the cricketer’s way by several other members of the sporting world, as well as other celebrities. Wasim’s wife, Shaniera Akram took to Twitter to wish him a happy birthday. She tweeted, “On your 55th birthday, one son is in America, second in Pakistan, your wife and daughter in Australia and you just got out of a 10-day lock quarantine isolated by yourself in Abu Dhabi. Covid times make us appreciate how important family is and how strong we all are fighting together.”
He was also wished by fellow cricketer Shoaib Malik, who wrote on Twitter, “Legends don’t get older they just become greater! Here’s to another year of your incomparable mentorship and individuality. Happy birthday!”
Cricketer Shoaib Akhtar also took to Twitter to wish Wasim. He wrote, “Happy Birthday Sultan of Swing. My first captain @wasimakramlive. Enjoy your quarantine birthday with lots of video calls. Haha”
