Monsoon season: Collapsed roof causes six deaths

MIRPURKHAS: Six people were killed and eight others injured, when the roof of a house collapsed while they were asleep early Friday morning during the heavy downpour. The death toll in Mirpurkhas district in rain-related incidents during the past 48 hours has reached 10. Muhammad Akram, 60, his wife Masmat Khanma, Waseem, 24, Shaheen, 26, Salman, 3, and Alisha, 2, were killed immediately when a major portion of the roof collapsed while they were asleep. Eight others of same family identified as Aslam, Shereen, Nosheen, Hasnain, Noreen, Farzana and their baby were seriously injured in the incident. The bodies and the injured were taken to Civil Hospital, Mirpurkhas.
