The Sindh High Court (SHC) extended on Tuesday the interim bail of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani in an inquiry launched against him for allegedly making illegal appointments in Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Medical University.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro and Justice Shamsuddin Abbasi heard the bail plea.
The NAB prosecutor prayed the court to grant him more time to complete inquiry against Durrani.
The court accepted his request and adjourned the hearing till August 11, while extending Durrani's bail.
Another two-member bench, comprising Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro and Justice Shamsuddin Abbasi, extended the bail of Sindh Agriculture Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal and others in an illegal land allotment case till August 17.
The bench sought a progress report from NAB, after the anti-graft watchdog's prosecutor informed the court that the inquiry has been completed and the matter has been forwarded to the NAB headquarters.
The bench extended the bail of the accused and adjourned the hearing.
