CTO wants smooth traffic flow in Murree

Urged road users to follow traffic rules, adding that the signboards are for their help

Every year hundreds of tourists visit Pakistan's foremost hill station, Murree, which presents problems for the traffic police to handle such a huge influx of cars at a given time.

In this context, Rawalpindi Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rai Mazhar Iqbal has instructed Murree Traffic DSP Zafar Alam to provide the best traffic facilities to the tourists visiting the hill station during the summer season.

He directed that all possible traffic facilities should be provided as well as awareness should also be spread about the precautionary measures and traffic rules applicable when driving in hilly areas so that any kind of accident can be prevented.

Furthermore, Iqbal disclosed that more than 13,000 vehicles enter Murree on weekends. He stressed that despite lack of parking space and ongoing road construction, Murree Traffic DSP and his team performed their duties with utmost diligence and dedication to maintain a smooth flow of traffic.

The traffic police chief added that Murree is an international tourist destination where people from all over the country come. Hence, no one will be allowed to take the law into their hands while driving.

He urged road users to follow traffic rules, adding that the signboards are for their help. Iqbal said that tourists can make their journey safe and carefree by following the traffic rules.
