CM launches ‘Khidmat Aap Ki Dehleez Par’

Streets, markets, neighbourhoods to be cleaned during 3-week programme

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has inaugurated the “Khidmat Aap Ki Dehleez Par” programme with an aim to improve service delivery mechanism along with provision of facilities at the grassroots.

In the inauguration ceremony held at his office on Monday, the chief minister also launched a mobile app “Khidmat@Dehleez”. Addressing the ceremony, Buzdar highlighted that initially the programme is of three weeks' duration in which streets, bazaars and neighbourhoods will be cleaned and garbage will be removed from roads. Similarly, banners and wall chalking will also be cleaned, he added.

Under the programme, he indicated, dysfunctional street lights will also be repaired and special attention will be paid to improving drainage and water supply facilities in the second week, he said. Sewerage pipes will be cleaned and open manholes will be covered, the CM further stated.

Government buildings, basic health units (BHUs) and Regional Health Centers (RHCs) will also be cleaned and painted along with beautification of parks, greenbelts, roundabouts and squares, he said.

He also announced to involve civil society members, local population and members of the tiger force to augment the exercise and disclosed that field activities will be monitored through an application.
