CDWP green-lights 11 projects worth Rs45b

Refers four mage projects of Rs124b to Ecnec for approval

ISLAMABAD:

The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved 11 development projects worth Rs45.09 billion. It has also referred four projects worth Rs124.09 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) for approval.

Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Jehanzeb Khan presided over a CDWP meeting on Saturday. Senior officials from the Planning Commission and federal ministries and divisions participated in the meeting. Representatives of the provincial governments also attended the moot through video link.

Fifteen projects – related to transport and communication – were discussed in the meeting.

The eleven projects that it later approved include Rs2995.586 million worth project for construction 60km-long road from Buleda to Prom; Rs3399.392 million worth project for construction of road from Prom to Jalgai and Rs5170.832 million worth project for construction of road from Prom to Chedgi.

It also green-lighted Rs2363.873 million worth project for construction of road from Naag to Ghichak; Rs 348.231 million worth project for completion of Niheng Bridge at Rodbun in District Kech and Rs8,770million project for widening, improvement and rehabilitation of road from Chowkibal (N-55) Tehsil Taunsa to N-70 Chapper Balochistan via Zain, Bharti and Kharar Buzdar District of DG Khan.

The CDWP gave the nod to Rs3,900 million worth project for construction of road from Bahawalpur (N-5) to Jhangra Sharqi Interchange in District Bahawalpur; Rs2,019 million worth project for upgrading Kalabagh Shakardara Road in District Mianwali and  Rs2,454 million worth project for dualization of 12km road from Karan Dad Quershi to Qasba Gujrat.

It also approved Rs7,752.479 million worth project for construction of approaches on both sides of Sheikh Khalifa Bridge over the River Indus along with Guide Banks in Rahim Yar Khan and Rs5,916.713 million project for dualization of 46 km-long road from Mandi Bahauddin City to Sarai Alamgir Canal Pull Main at the GT Road via Village Rasool at District Mandi Bahauddin.

The four projects that it referred to Ecnec are Rs1,2020.357 million worth project for reconstruction of Zubaida Jalal Road from M-8 Iranian Border to Turbat; Rs16,842.258 million worth project for construction of Panjgur-Ghichak-Awaran Road;  Rs13,648 million worth project  for dualization of 128 km road from Lila Interchange (M-2) via PD Khan to Jhelum I/C Bypasses and Rs81,582.219 million worth project for dualization of 330.52 km long Khuzdar Kuchlak Section of National Highway (N-25).
