Factory gutted, no casualties reported in Karachi
Inventory and equipment worth millions of rupees was turned to ashes when a fire broke out at a paint factory near Gulbai in Mauripur Area on Saturday.
The blaze, fueled by the chemicals kept in drums inside the factory, soon engulfed the entire building. The factory workers, however, managed to exit the building and sought help of the firefighting personnel.
Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Jam Ikramullah Dharejo took notice of the incident later on the day, and directed Sindh Industrial Trading State (SITE) managing director (MD) and other concerned officials to provide relief to affected factory owner.
He asked both the relevant authorities and factory owners to take measures in order to prevent such incidents in the future.
Dharejo said that SITE MD will visit the industrial zones to inspect the safety measures.
