CM approves 9.48b for Bhakkar uplift

The Punjab government has announced a Rs9.48 billion development package for Bhakkar for the completion of 106 development schemes.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar made this announcement on Thursday. He also inaugurated 76 development schemes worth Rs1.22 billion besides laying the foundation stone of 26 development projects valuing Rs1.12 billion.

During his visit to the district, he inaugurated the revamping scheme of 48-kilometre long roads under Rural Access Programme (RAP) Phase-I at to Bhakkar Deputy Commissioner’s Office. He highlighted that Rs507 million will be spent on the development scheme under Naya Pakistan Manzalain Asaan project.

He also inaugurated 20 roads and drainage projects under Community Development Program Phase-I, 10 roads' construction and 17 water drainage schemes valuing 220 million under the Community Development Program (CDP) Phase-II.

He also laid the foundation stone of Thal University and five roads construction projects of 63-km length under the RAP Phase-II with an estimated cost of Rs660 million. Under the CDP, he also foundation stone of 10 roads having a total length of 12 and nine water drainage projects under CDP Phase-II Rs170 million.

The chief minister laid the foundation stone of the model bazaar valuing Rs80 million.

On this occasion speaking to the media, Buzdar announced that the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) will be upgraded and cardiac centre will be established in Bhakkar while trauma centres will also be made in Tehsil Headquarters Hospitals (THQ) Darya Khan and Mankera.
