Government Subsidies: Over 0.8 million flour bags sold

FAISALABAD: As many as 802,223 10kg flour bags have been sold at subsidised rates in Faisalabad, a spokesman for the City District Government Faisalabad (CDGF) said in a statement on Friday. The statement said that 872,396 flour bags were supplied for sale at subsidised rates. It said 593,652 flour bags were sold through Sastay Ramazan Bazaars while 208,571 were sold in open markets. The remaining 70,173 flour bags are still available for sale, it said. The statement said that 215,575kg sugar was also sold through Sastay Ramazan Bazaars at the rate of Rs68 per kilogramme. It said that the local administration chalked out a comprehensive strategy to monitor the supply and sale of flour and sugar at subsidised rates at Sastay Ramazan Bazaars and open markets.
