LAHORE:

A security guard of Lahore Mayo Hospital had been booked for conducting operation while impersonating as a surgeon.

According to the police report, a woman identified as Shamim Bibi along with her son went for treatment to Mayo Hospital as she had a wound on her back. She visited the emergency ward.

At the ward, the patient and her son were confronted by the suspect Waheed Butt. Reportedly, the victims were confused and were running from one point to another. The suspect lured them by impersonating as a doctor and offered for assistance in wound treatment.

He took them to an operation theater and performed the surgery. Afterwards, he told them to go to their home and also promised to visit their home on a daily basis for dressing purposes.

The suspect would charge Rs500 for each visit.

As a result of the fake surgery, the woman’s condition deteriorated.

The patient and her son revisited the hospital and confronted the suspect who tried to intimidate and harass them. An inquiry into the matter revealed that the suspect was not a doctor but a security guard of the hospital.
