Village sealed over Covid-19 fears in Sindh

Medical stores, small grocery stores and truly essential services have however been exempted from this notification

LARKANA:

The district administration of Kambar-Shahdadkot has ordered the sealing of a village over reports of the high incidence of coronavirus infections and fatalities.

Kambar-Shahdadkot deputy commissioner issued the notification ordering sealing of Bhambho Khan Chandio village of Taluka Miro Khan on the recommendation of District Health Officer after observing “accelerated increase in positive cases of Covid-19 for seven days from May 17 to 23.

 The action was taken under section 3(3) of The Sindh Epidemic Diseases Act, 2014 in larger public interest and to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the notification read.

The Kambar-Shahdadkot senior superintendent of police and Larkana Shahbaz Rangers wing commander have been requested to reistrict the movement of people in these areas.

The law enforcers have been asked to ensure adherence of public to SOPs issued by the Home Department and take action against delinquents who are found violating the notification for proceeding under section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code and other relevant provisions in this regard.

Medical stores, small grocery stores and truly essential services have however been exempted from this notification. Copies of this notification have also been sent to higher Sindh Government authorities
