The duty roster for medical workers of federal government hospitals during Eid-ul-Fitr has been prepared. The Express Tribune learnt on Tuesday that the outpatient department (OPD) services in the hospitals will remain suspended while the emergency department will be open round the clock.

The head of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) Hospital, Dr Minhaj-ul-Siraj, said one medical officer from each department would be on duty in three shifts in Islamabad’s healthcare facilities. He added that hospital management and senior doctors will also be available on-call duty.

The Pims head said federal hospitals employees will provide services in hospitals and be away from their families and loved ones to ensure the provision of the best possible health facilities to citizens during Eid holidays.

Dr Siraj added the third wave of novel coronavirus was dangerous and urged the masses to strictly follow all SOPs prescribed by the NCOC authorities.

He also emphasised that people should get vaccinated to protect themselves from the virus.

Meanwhile, the Polyclinic Hospital management has designated five doctors for medical examination during the Eid holidays. The five doctors will stay on-call duty round the clock.
