Local Twitterati expressed mixed emotions over the court's verdict, with some questioning the lack of justice in the case of slain Punjab chief minister Salmaan Taseer's.
Ali Faruq
Such a speedy court decision on Rangers killing case, wish the same had happened with Mumtaz Qadri.
AamnaTaseer
@SalmaanTaseer’s case still await justice…
Ammaraul Haq
There is still justice in Pakistan! Sentencing out in the Pakistan Rangers shooting! Now for them to actually serve their sentences!
Jehan Ara
I don't believe in capital punishment. Life imprisonment would have sufficed.
Ayesha Tammy Haq
Rangers killing case: Death sentence for one and life for the others and that’s what happens when cases are prosecuted.
Mirza9
If media pressure is what it takes for justice, you're overlooking the real issue here.
Fifi Haroon
Don’t believe in capital punishment, rest seems about right.
Faisal Qureshi
Court gives death sentence to the Pakistan Rangers official in Sarfaraz case. How come the court never tries real terrorists this way?
Saeed Shah
If Pakistan courts can convict killers of Sarfraz Shah in two months, why not the jihadi terrorists too?
Ali Abbas Zaidi
Sarfaraz Shah murder: Justice served. Thousands of terrorists and killer of Salman Taseer: Just ice served.

Hang Mumtaz Qadri... or incidents will continue..
First of all salman taseer was not the chief minister of punjab. He was the governer of punjab. Secondly, yes justice must be provided to the family of Salman Taseer aswell. I think judges are scared if they give same decision in case of mumtaz qadri some religious extremists might kill them. So we must wait for 20 30 atleast years for the verdict to come out, that too in the favour of mumtaz qadri.
Can anyone remember the victims of Sialkot incident? Is there a chance of justice being served in that case?
First of all justice has been served and I hope the same would happen with Qadri or any killers (loads of them roaming free yet even captured on the cameras). However, i have seen people claiming that Raymond davis paid money according to sharia , well then you dont know sharia, As per the established facts, It is Pakistan Govt who paid the money . If we look at the case , Pak Govt infect should represent Pakistani Citizen not American, hence how come you pay yourself to satisfy the Sharia. We have already made Islam as Joke and its probably another evidence of it.
To Express Media, what kind of a paper it is which makes news of some twitter comments and especailly of those selected by yourself own. To be a unbaised media , you got to put comments from various point of view not just whom u follow. Dont want to say beyond this.
A murder conviction after only two months of litigation? That is not justice! That is ineffective assistance of counsel. There is not one mention of the convicted man's name, nor his attorney's name. Did he even have an legal representation? Is he appealing his conviction?
Justice delayed is justice denied. In Sarfaraz Shah's case the SC took swift action and made sure that the decision is popular in public. S. Shah may or may not be totally innocent but he did not deserve intentionally left "bleeding to death". This only shows if the SC and its CJ "want" they can provide swift justice to even a questionable thug like S. Shah. On the contrary Salman Taseer was not trying to snatch the gun from the police, he was not a physical threat to anybody, his killer admitted killing Taseer, Qadri showed no remorse but pride and justification and so on. His case should not take even as long as S. Shah's case, where the killing was not as clear and it was contested by the defense lawyers. After taking the heat from public, on M. Mai's case the SC CJ wanted to make a public statement and he actully did. However, the same PCO court does not see a need to show any interest in Taseer's killing.
@Architect: didn't Ramond Davis pay ''khoon-b'haa'' to the families and next of kin of the deceased?
Qadri is the hero of lawyers, mullah/military alliance and of rightwing parties. His case would drag on for years in the mean time he has a comfortable life in jail as a hero of Islam. Nobody including our independent courts are in a rush to punish him and cannot release him due to the International pressure. If Qadri were a secular political party leader, the SC would have been chasing him day and night. Salman Taseer according to some was "liable for murder" and Qadri only did their dirty job.
The general public outcry and dismay has more or less forced the authorities to dispense this quick justice. The murderers of Salman Taseer and Ahmadis masjid massacre will slowly disappear in the sunset?
@Architect
Raymond davis paid 20 crore Diyat, and the relatives now own a house in a posh area!
@Asad: What about ISO murderers and the karachi target killers with political affiliations?
@Arthitect because Raymond followed "shariah" and paid as per "Qisas" rule. Nothing common in both cases.
easy to kill low level govt servants what about the evil Qadri, or the terrorist that can threaten their way out of justice.
so the message is lound and clear: if you kill in the name of religion you will be allowed to get away scot free and probably have thousands of people throw rose petals on you and your family rewarded with money. if you don't kill in the name of religoin then you'll get hanged.
What about the sipah sahaba murderers and the karachi target killers with political affiliations?
@Mumtaz Qadri should be hanged in public...people woh use religion of peace Islam as there tool to justify any king fo there personal brutality and sickness should be hanged in the public as they are damaging the whole religion..Shame on those who support this Killer..
Killers like Malik Ishaq roam scot-free and Mumtaz Qadri remains protected from being tried.
Wah Pakistan Wah!
