As India fights its deadliest wave of the coronavirus pandemic, a bevy of Bollywood stars have tested positive for the infection in the past few months.

The latest celebrity to have contracted Covid-19 is Queen actor Kangana Ranaut. The star took to Instagram to share the news with her followers on Saturday, stating that she headed for a PCR test after experiencing bouts of discomfort, reported Hindustan Times.

Uploading a picture of herself in a meditation position, Kangana captioned it, "I was feeling tired and weak with slight burning sensation in my eyes for the past few days. I was hoping to go to Himachal so got my test done yesterday and today the result came back. I am covid positive."

She continued, "I have quarantined myself. I had no idea this virus is having a party in my body and now that I know I will demolish it. People please don’t give anything any power over you, if you are scared it will scare you more. Come, let’s destroy this Covid-19 because it is nothing but a small-time flu which got too much press and is now psyching a few people. Har Har Mahadev."

Kangana has been slammed for her refusal to follow coronavirus safety guidelines on multiple occasions, including the wearing of face masks. Responding to paparazzi pictures of her at Mumbai airport, actor Kishwer Merchant had once commented, "How is this woman never in a mask?" Kishwer's spouse Suyyash Rai had previously revealed that Kangana was spotted without a mask while visiting a dubbing studio. He referred to her ignorance as “dumbness at its best”.
