As many as 11,000 rescuers have been asked to stay on high alert during Eidul Fitr holidays to ensure prompt response to emergencies in Punjab.
Punjab Emergency Service (PES) Director General (DG) Dr Rizwan Naseer reviewed the arrangements in a meeting with all district emergency officers (DEOs) held at the Rescue Headquarters on Thursday.
The DEOs briefed the DG about the emergency plans, including the strategy to deal with Covid-19 emergency, finalized in all districts in consultation with deputy commissioners (DCs).
The meeting noted that 11,000 rescuers will perform Eid duties in three shifts at 650 key points across Punjab.
