A young girl was sexually assaulted by the accused on the pretext of giving a job while a teenager made a noise and thwarted the rape attempt in Dijkot on Thursday.
Police registered cases and started raids to arrest the suspect. In the case filed by Faisal Nawaz, a resident of D-Type Colony, it has been stated that his 26-year-old sister, was called to Douglaspura by the suspect Qaiser under the pretext of giving her a job.
Nawaz said, “The victim was taken to a house where an unknown person was already present with a weapon. He sexually assaulted my sister at gunpoint.”
Jhang Bazar police registered a case under Section 376(Punishment for rape) which states that “Whoever commits rape shall be punished with death or imprisonment of either description for a term which shall not be less than ten years or more, than twenty-five years and shall also be liable to fine.”
Separately, near Satiana Road 225 RB, Aleem Sagar tried to rape Zahid Rasool's daughter which she thwarted by making noise and the suspect escaped. Police have registered a case under different Sections of PPC including 376(Punishment for rape) and 511(Punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or for shorter terms).
Incidents of sexual violence have been rampant across the province. Last month, Two minors including a policeman’s seven-year-old son and a girl were molested in Dijkot.
