Corruption in projects no longer prevalent: CM

Says previous govts neglected priorities of people through ‘exhibitory projects’

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said timely completion of development schemes is important to facilitate the citizens and the sustained monitoring will ensure efficiency and transparency. “The menace of corruption, in development projects, is a thing of the past and no one will be allowed any wrongdoing now because development schemes are executed through hard earned money of the people.”

Buzdar made these remarks while speaking to ministers and parliamentarians at his office on Monday. Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Ejaz Alam, Punjab Energy Minister Muhammad Akhtar Malik, MNA Sardar Muhammad Khan Leghari and MPAs Mahindar Pall Singh, Saleem Akhtar and Ghulam Ali Asghar were present on the occasion and discussed matters of mutual interest.

The chief minister repeated his resolve to continue consultations with the parliamentarians for the timely solution of people-related problems and assured to give importance to their proposals adding that feasible suggestions will be implemented. A mechanism has been devised to monitor development projects at every level to yield positive results, he added.
