Retirement board to send recommendations for compulsory retirement of officers

The Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) has sought lists of officers from the departments under Punjab Civil Servants (Directory Retirement from Service) Rules 2021.

Reportedly, the lists of officers who had completed 20 years of service had been sought from the departments for performance appraisal and in this regard, S&GAD issued a letter to the administrative secretaries of all the departments.

Those officers who had earned average performance evaluation reports (PERs) or adverse remarks had been recorded in three or more PERs from three different officers; has twice been recommended for supersession by the Provincial Selection Board-1 (PSB-1), Provincial Selection Board-II (PSB-II) or Departmental Selection Board (DSB), or twice not recommended for promotion by the provincial selection board and such recommendations have been approved by the appointing authority; found guilty of corruption or has entered into a plea bargain or voluntary return with NAB or any other investigating agency; has unbecoming conduct, will be recommended for the directory retirement. 

The cases of officers of Grade 19 and above will be presented in the retirement board headed by the chief secretary while the cases of officers of Grade 17 and 18 will be presented in the retirement committee headed by the Addl CS.
